Director, Total Fund Management, Head of Responsible Investing | Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan
Deborah Ng is a Director, Total Fund Management and Head of Responsible Investing at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Deborah heads the Plan’s Responsible Investing team and develops and leads the Plan’s Responsible Investing Strategy and Climate Change initiatives. She is responsible for key deliverables across a number of pillars, including: ESG and climate change thought leadership and innovation, ESG integration frameworks and tools, and corporate engagement. Deborah and her team provide insights and subject matter expertise to the global direct investment teams.
Prior to this Deborah was part of the Strategy & Asset Mix team where she focused on the research, evaluation, and introduction of innovative asset allocation strategies that are designed to help meet the Plan’s long‑term liability objectives. She also provided input and support for the annual strategic investment plan and medium‑term risk management.
Deborah sits on the board of the GRESB, BV (the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark), and past Chair of its Infrastructure Advisory Board. She actively participates in a number of global initiatives including: A4S, Bloomberg’s ESG advisory committee, and the SASB Investor Advisory Group Prior to joining Teachers’, Deborah founded Acuity Communications facilitating investment research communications for various financial institutions. Deborah was awarded with Director’s Award from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto where she obtained her Master of Finance. She is also a CFA charterholder.

As director of Climate Research on the Sustainable Investment Team, Chris focuses on investment solutions that share an enduring nature and require critical strategic thinking. He spearheads a collaborative initiative between Wellington Management and Woodwell Climate Research Center to integrate climate science and asset management. This alliance, launched in 2018, is focused on creating investor tools and insights to better understand how and where climate change may impact global capital markets.
Prior to joining Wellington Management, Chris was head of Portfolio Management – Americas within the Investment Solutions Group at State Street Global Advisors. Before joining State Street, he held a number of different investment roles at Fidelity Investments and Pyramis Global Advisors. Previously, he was a CPA with Kaplan, Moran, Digennaro in the public accounting field.
Chris earned both his BA with a concentration in accounting and his MBA with a concentration in finance from Bryant University. Additionally, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst designations, and he is a CPA. He is also a professor of finance at Bryant University.
