Stewart Beck is the former President and CEO of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. Prior to joining APF Canada, Stewart served as the Canadian High Commissioner to the Republic of India with concurrent accreditation to the Kingdom of Bhutan and to Nepal. He joined Canada’s Department of External Affairs and International Trade (now Global Affairs Canada) in 1982 and served abroad in the United States, Taiwan, and the People’s Republic of China.
In Ottawa, he held a number of progressively more senior positions, including Director General of the North Asia Bureau, Director General Responsible for Senior Management and Rotational Assignments, and Assistant Deputy Minister for International Business Development, Investment, and Innovation. He was Consul General in Shanghai and prior to his posting to India, he was Consul General in San Francisco.

David is Head of Team for Credit at Polen Capital, where he serves as co-Portfolio Manager of the U.S. Opportunistic High Yield and U.S. High Yield strategies. In 1996, David co-founded DDJ Capital, where he built the boutique firm into a premier credit manager focused on high yield and special situation investing. In 2022, Polen Capital acquired DDJ Capital, which launched the firm’s Credit capabilities. Previously, David was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Investments in the High Income group, where he directed the investment management of high yield and distressed assets. Prior to that, David spent five years at T. Rowe Price as a high yield analyst and portfolio manager. David earned his B.A. in political science and economics from Union College and an M.B.A. from Cornell University. David serves on the Boards of Trustees of Union College and Cornell University.
Jason Campbell

A Principal within Eckler’s Investment Consulting practice, Jason joined the firm in 2006. He provides investment strategy advice to a wide range of institutional clients, including DB and DC pension plans, endowment/foundations, single family offices, corporations and non-profit organizations.
In addition to consulting responsibilities, Jason is a member of the Investment Research Steering Committee which oversees investment manager and strategy research.
Jason’s specific area of expertise is alternative investments including infrastructure, real estate, private equity and private debt strategies.
An active volunteer within the pension and investment community, Jason has authored several articles and presented on investment strategy at numerous conferences. He is currently a member of the Canadian Investment Review Advisory Board, a volunteer on the CNIB’s National Pension Committee and a director with the National Ballet School Foundation.
Jason graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1999 with an Economics degree. He has also earned the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
Michel Charron

Michel is an Associate Partner within the Investment Consulting practice of Aon. His responsibilities include advising clients on matters related to investment, policy, and governance of institutional assets.
With over 30 years of experience, Michel has significant experience working closely with pension plans and foundations and is involved in all aspects related to investment consulting, particularly in terms of portfolio construction, performance monitoring and manager searches. He is also an expert in portfolio compliance monitoring, in the development and revision of investment policy statements, in optimizing asset allocation and in the application of responsible investment principles.
Michel earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance and international business from McGill University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder (CFA). He has also earned the CFA ESG Investing certification.
Christy Clark
Former Premier,
British Columbia
Christy Clark is the longest-serving female Premier in Canadian history and the only woman in Canada ever to be re-elected as Premier. She has made an indelible mark on the Canadian political landscape.
She led British Columbia through a period of remarkable economic growth, fiscal responsibility, and job creation.
Under Ms. Clark's leadership, British Columbia was Canada's economic leader for three consecutive years, a feat not accomplished since the 1960s.
BC was first in job creation among the Canadian provinces. She pulled her province out of a massive deficit to deliver five consecutive balanced budgets. When she retired from office, British Columbia was triple AAA rated and on track to eliminate its operating debt by 2020, a milestone not achieved since 1976.
She championed oil and gas, securing the largest private sector investment in Canadian history, the Shell Canada LNG Plant, which will ship its first gas to Asia in 2024. She is also responsible for turning Site C, a massive hydro project that had been on the books for 50 years, into reality.
Her legacy is marked by a deep commitment to planning for future generations, leaving behind a province with a diversified economy, expanded market opportunities, a visionary clean energy plan, billions of dollars invested in infrastructure, and a significant reduction in the public debt burden to be carried by future generations of British Columbians.
Susan Eisenhower
Founder,
The Eisenhower Group, Inc.
Ms. Eisenhower is well-known for her work as a policy analyst, much of which has been focused on national security, and related strategic issues. She has brought this work to light in her writing as an essayist, op-ed writer, biographer, and editor. She has authored hundreds of op-eds for newspapers such as The Washington Post, The New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times. Her articles have also appeared in the National Academy of Sciences’ Issues in Science and Technology and the Naval Institute’s Proceedings. Early in her career, she wrote humor for The Saturday Evening Post.
Her most recent book has received critical acclaim nationally and internationally: How Ike Led: The Principles Behind Eisenhower’s Biggest Decisions (Thomas Dunne Books, an imprint of St Martin’s Publishing Group: August 11, 2020).
Eisenhower has provided analysis for CNN International, MSNBC, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, FOX News, CBS Sunday Morning in an interview with Rita Braver, the BBC, and all three major network morning programs. On the lighter side, she has appeared on the Colbert Report and Real Time with Bill Maher, in addition to many other well-remembered programs such as the PBS Newshour with Jim Lehrer, Hardball with Chris Mathews, Nightline with Ted Koppel, World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, This Week with David Brinkley, and CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt.
Beyond the well-known range of current affairs and news programs, Eisenhower has been seen as a “talking head” on documentaries, such as Oliver North’s War Stories, Sony Pictures Why We Fight and David Hoffman’s Sputnik Mania. Most recently she has been interviewed for several documentaries on D-Day.
In 1986, Susan Eisenhower founded The Eisenhower Group, Inc., a Washington, DC, based consulting company. For more than thirty years, the company has provided strategic counsel on business development, public affairs, and communications projects. Through the Eisenhower Group, Inc., Ms. Eisenhower does extensive work in executive training on strategic leadership, a lecture topic she presents to many corporate and organizational venues.
In addition to her work through EGI, Susan Eisenhower has also had a distinguished career as a policy analyst. She is Chairman Emeritus at the Eisenhower Institute where she served as president twice. Currently she holds a year-long seminar on strategy for competitively selected students through the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College. She has also been a Fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics as well as a Distinguished Fellow at the Nixon Center, now called the Center for National Interest.
During different administrations, she served as a member of three blue ribbon commissions for the Department of Energy: The Baker-Cutler Commission on U.S. Funded Non-Proliferation Programs in Russia; The Sununu-Meserve Commission on Nuclear Energy; and the Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future, which released its findings on a comprehensive program for the back end of the nuclear fuel cycle. She is currently a member of MIT’s Energy Initiative Advisory Board and former co-chairman of NEAC, the Secretary of Energy’s Nuclear Energy Advisory Board.
In 1998 Susan Eisenhower was appointed to the National Academy of Sciences Standing Committee on International Security and Arms Control, where she served for eight years. After as many years on the NASA Advisory Council, she became a member of the International Space Station Management and Cost Evaluation Task Force.
Today, Ms. Eisenhower serves on a number of charitable and corporate advisory boards.
Anne-Marie Fink

Anne-Marie Fink serves as the State of Wisconsin Investment Board's Chief Investment Officer for Private Markets and Funds Alpha. With SWIB since 2020, she is responsible for overseeing more than $70 billion across private equity, real estate, hedge funds, externally managed accounts, private debt, and venture capital portfolios, and a team of 40 professionals.
Anne-Marie has more than two decades of investment management experience. She served as the chief investment officer for the Employees’ Retirement System of Rhode Island and for a large family office. Anne-Marie started her investment career at JP Morgan, where she spent more than 16 years as an equity and hedge fund analyst. Before SWIB, she was at State Street Global Advisors as the portfolio strategist for alternative investments.
Anne-Marie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She is also the author of The Money Makers: How Extraordinary Managers Win in a World Turned Upside Down, which draws on investors’ experience to identify best practices in business management across companies and industries.
Chris Goolgasian
Director, Climate Research,
Wellington Management
As a director of climate research on the Sustainable Investment Team, Chris spearheads a collaborative initiative between Wellington Management and Woodwell Climate Research Center (WCRC) to integrate climate science and asset management. This alliance, launched in 2018, is focused on creating investor tools and insights to better understand how and where climate change may impact global capital markets. He is also the portfolio manager for Wellington’s Climate Resilience strategy.
Prior to joining Wellington Management in 2014, Chris was head of portfolio management – Americas within the Investment Solutions Group at State Street Global Advisors. Before joining State Street, he held a number of different investment roles at Fidelity Investments and Pyramis Global Advisors beginning in. Previously, he was a CPA with Kaplan, Moran, Digennaro in the public accounting field.
Chris earned both his BA with a concentration in accounting and his MBA with a concentration in finance from Bryant University. Additionally, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst designations, and he is a CPA. He is also a professor of finance at Bryant University.
David Hedalen
Head of Real Assets Research, Aviva
David Hedalen is Head of Private Markets Research at Aviva Investors. He leads a team tasked with delivering both thematic and fundamental research to the various investment desks across Private Markets which has circa $55bn AUM. As part of the senior team, he provides challenge and corroboration, offering insights into strategy formation and portfolio construction. David and his team also develop and maintain proprietary models that underpin investment decisions and market outlooks.
Before joining Aviva Investors, David was Head of UK & European Real Estate Investment Strategy at Standard Life/abrdn, covering both research and strategy functions across the real estate business. Prior to that, he worked in London and Stockholm for IPD (now part of MSCI Real Assets), managing accounts and analysis for several large asset management houses in Europe.
David has been a member of numerous industry bodies, including serving as Chair of both the INREV Performance Measurement Committee and the INREV Asset Level Index. He has also been a member of the IPF Research Steering Committee and part of PDIG, the Property Derivatives Interest Group.
He holds a degree in Geography from the University of Northern British Columbia, Canada, an MSc in Spatial Planning and the Built Environment from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, as well as an MBA (with distinction) from Alliance Manchester Business School, UK.

Nadeem Janmohamed is Managing Director, Active Equities atCPP Investments. Nadeem leads CPP Investments’ Technology investment domain in North America, which spans public and pre‑IPO equity investments in AI, semiconductors, software, cloud computing , IT hardware, and electronic systems.
He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.
Roman Kosarenko

Roman Kosarenko is a Senior Director, Pension Investments at Loblaw Companies Limited, overseeing DB and DC investments of the business group that is the largest private employer in Canada. Roman is a board member of the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PAIC) and served on the FSRA/OSFI Technical Advisory Committee on defined contribution (DC) plans.
Roman has been an active advocate for DC longevity pooling solutions. Roman has been in the pension industry for over 15 years. He is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA degree from London Business School (UK).

Mark Lacey is the Head of Thematic Equties at Schroders. He is the portfolio manager of the Schroder ISF Global Energy Transition, Schroder ISF Global Energy and Schroder ISF Global Gold. Mark joined Schroders in 2013 and is based in London. Prior to joining Schroders he was a portfolio manager at Investec from 2007 to 2013, where he managed global energy funds. Prior to Investec, Mark was head of energy equities at Goldman Sachs and was ranked No.1 energy investment specialist in the 2006 Thompson Extel survey.

Shane is head of Global Thematic, managing a C$2.5 billion concentrated public equities portfolio for BCI, a public sector asset manager with C$250 billion gross assets under management. As part of this mandate, he chairs BCI’s Thematic Advisory Committee, a cross-disciplinary group of senior investment and investment research professionals who come together to assess long-term thematic opportunities and risks to BCI’s current and prospective investments.
Shane was appointed head of Global Thematic in February 2018 and tasked with building and staffing a world-class Thematic program. Since then, Global Thematic has grown into a multi-billion-dollar portfolio and is now supported by a team of seven dedicated finance professionals.
Shane joined BCI in 2010 and, before his current appointment, spent several years as Portfolio Manager, Global Thematic, leading sustainability investments. Collectively, Shane has 20 years of capital markets experience performing portfolio management and fundamental analysis on a broad array of industries and companies around the world.
Shane holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is CFA Charterholder.

Greg Lowman is Vice President of Advocacy and Policy Communications for Fidelity Investments, a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to more than 49 million individuals, 24,000 employers, and 16,000 wealth management firms and intermediaries.
Since joining Fidelity in July 2019, Mr. Lowman has advanced advocacy strategies to support policy outcomes that align with the firm’s strategic objectives. He focuses on a wide range of legislative and regulatory policies that could impact Fidelity, its products and services, and the firm’s ability to serve its clients and customers.
Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Lowman was a Partner at Sphere Consulting, a boutique public affairs firm based in Washington, DC. Before Sphere, he represented a diverse membership of financial services institutions at the Banking Policy Institute (formerly known as the Financial Services Roundtable) as a Director of Government Affairs. Mr. Lowman received his undergraduate degree from McGill University in 2008.
Catherine Marshall

Catherine leads RealAlts, a specialist real assets investment consul6ng prac6ce. Since 2008, Catherine has consulted for global asset owners and investment managers across North America and Europe.
Prior to her consulting career, Catherine had an extensive track record in investment management as a strategist, portfolio manager, and acquisition professional on outperforming real asset investment teams. Her roles included Head of Real Estate Research and Strategy at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board; Senior Vice President, Research and Strategy at LaSalle Investment Management; and Assistant Portfolio Manager at the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation. Catherine also worked as Associate Partner, Global Real Estate for Aon/Townsend Investment Consulting, and as Associate Portfolio Manager at Genus Capital Management managing equity portfolios on behalf of the Maritime Life Mutual Funds (John Hancock/Manulife).
Catherine is a leading voice on real asset investing in Canada and globally. In 2024 she was among 45 women on Benefits and Pension Monitor’s inaugural list of Elite Women recognized for their leadership in the Canadian benefits, pensions, and institutional investment industry. Marie-Lucie Morin

Marie-Lucie Morin was Executive Director at the World Bank from 2010 to 2013. Previously Ms. Morin pursued a 30-year career in the Federal Public Service. She was appointed National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister and Associate Secretary to the Cabinet in 2008, having served as Deputy Minister for International Trade and Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier in her career with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ms. Morin completed assignments in San Francisco, Jakarta, London, and Moscow. In 1997 she was appointed Ambassador to Norway with accreditation to Iceland.
Ms. Morin was named Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 2012 and became a member of the Order of Canada in 2016.

The Honourable Bob Rae
Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations in New York
Before his appointment by the Government of Canada, Mr. Rae served as Canada’s special envoy on humanitarian and refugee issues, continuing the important work that he began in 2017 as Canada’s special envoy to Myanmar while also addressing other pressing humanitarian and refugee issues around the world.
The former premier of Ontario and former interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Mr. Rae was elected 11 times to federal and provincial parliaments between 1978 and 2013. He stepped down as a member of Parliament in 2013 to return to legal practice and, in particular, to work with Indigenous communities and continue his work in education, governance and human rights. His passion for social justice dates back to his early days in student politics and community service.
Before his appointment as permanent representative, Mr. Rae was senior counsel at Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP. In addition to his legal practice, he taught at the University of Toronto in the School of Public Policy and Governance, in the Faculty of Law and at Massey College and Victoria University, and he was a fellow of the Forum of Federations, Massey College and the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights. He has also worked as a mediator and arbitrator with ADR Chambers. A former partner at Goodmans LLP, Mr. Rae led the restructuring of the Canadian Red Cross and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and chaired the board of the Royal Conservatory of Music. He is the author of 5 books and a number of government reports.
Mr. Rae is a privy councillor, a companion of the Order of Canada and a member of the Order of Ontario and has numerous awards and honorary degrees from institutions in Canada and around the world. He received his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern History from the University of Toronto and a Master of Philosophy degree as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, and graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.

Ravi Ramamurti is an expert on strategy and innovation in emerging markets. He is University Distinguished Professor of International Business & Strategy and Founding Director of the Center for Emerging Markets at Northeastern U. (University Distinguished Professorship is the highest honor bestowed on faculty at Northeastern U.)
Ravi got his BSc (Physics) from Delhi University, his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad), where he was gold medalist, and his Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he was awarded the HBS Dissertation Fellowship. Ravi has been a visiting professor of business administration at Harvard Business School, Wharton School, and MIT-Sloan School. He has also taught at Tufts University’s Fletcher School, the China-Europe International Business School in Shanghai, and IMD-Switzerland.
Prior to academia, Ravi worked as a Consultant to the Indian Planning Commission, as executive assistant to the CEO of India’s largest engineering company, and as a UN Adviser to Bangladesh and South Korea.
For his “outstanding contributions to the scholarly development of international business” Ravi was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business in 2008. A survey ranked him among the top 1% of all scholars in his field. He is the author of nine books, including three published by Cambridge University Press and one by Harvard Business Review Press. In 2007, he was elected as leader of the Academy of Management’s International Management Division. In 2017, The Globals named him the “most innovative thinker on strategy and innovation in emerging markets in the world.” He is a six-time winner of the ADL Prize for Professor of the Year based on his teaching.
Working with Prof. Govindarajan of Dartmouth, Ravi pioneered the concept of “reverse innovation,” which Harvard Business Review has recognized as one the big new ideas of management. His seminal article on this topic won the 2012 EBS prize for best article on Innovation Management and the 2017 prize for Best Article published in Global Strategy Journal (GSJ). He co-authored “Delivering world class health care, affordably,” in Harvard Business Review (Nov 2013) and followed it with the book, Reverse innovation in health care: How to make value-based delivery work (Harvard Business Review Press, 2018). He has also published other articles in Harvard Business Review and in HBR Online, as well as numerous leading academic journals.

David Ross, Senior Managing Director & head of the Total Portfolio Management (TPM) group at OPTrust. With net assets of $25 billion, OPTrust invests and manages one of Canada’s largest defined benefit plans with over 111,000 members.
At OPTrust, David is responsible for overseeing public market investment strategies, executed both internally and externally. Strategies are deployed in three value add programs, namely multi-strategy investing, credit, and emerging markets equities, as well as across asset classes at the Total Portfolio level. This includes the oversight of the Plan’s internal trading, funding and liquidity management, incubation investments in novel and transformative technologies, as well as the development and deployment of internally managed systematic strategies in the Total Portfolio.

In February 2020, Dr. Christopher Sands accepted a federal appointment as the third director of the Canada Institute at the Wilson Center in Washington, DC, the largest research program on Canadian political and economic affairs outside Canada. The Wilson Center is a congressionally chartered, scholarship driven, and rigorously bipartisan research center within the Smithsonian Institution. In 2023, Dr. Sands marks 30 years at leading U.S. think tanks, having previously directed Canadian research at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the Hudson Institute.
He is an adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and directs the Hopkins Center for Canadian Studies founded in 1960 by the late Canadian Nobel Laureate in Economics Robert Mundell. He previously taught in the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and the School of Public Affairs at American University in Washington, DC and earned a PhD in International Relations at Johns Hopkins University. Although frequently mistaken for a Canadian, he was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.
